Hey everyone I thought I would share just a few things I learned from my first grow.
My grow was as follows
Plant:dinafem white widow autoflower
Light:180 watts of cfl
Grow:stealth
medium:soil-less
As a beginner it would have helped me to know that computer fans are not good enough in hot climates. That it is better to get just a massive fan and speed control it down to a manageable level. That would have saved me probably 50$ if someone had told me that.
CFl lights are fine just make sure you have an easy way to move them like with a pully. also the most light comes from the sides of a cfl so dont put them straight up and down angle them.
light socket splitters are awesome. look them up.
As a new grower don't bother with the organic super soil stuff or anything like that keep it simple. Get an autoflowering plant and put it in a 3 gallon pot of potting soil and just feed it the fox farms tiger bloom. super simple and cheap I didnt even get a PH meter and my grow turned out fine. If i had not used an autoflowering strain I probably would have killed the plant because the salts would have more time to build up.
Carbon filter is a must but it doesnt have to be fancy just get a honeywell carbon filter and wrap it up and duct tape the other thing closed.
when in doubt more duct tape.
when the duct tape fails redo it the right way then add more duct tape.
dont be shoddy on the electrical work i shocked the piss out of myself because of that.
duct tape is not light proof, but painting 4 layers of black paint on duct tape is.
