What has happened to this seedling?

I have started germinating this seedling about 9 days ago, and it was doing quite well the first week. I had it under a humidity dome (averaging about 85% humidity), and about 3 days ago, i took the dome off and moved the light (24w t5 fluorescent) slightly closer (about 2-3 inches).

There are 3 photos below, 1st one was from 3 days ago when it started, and the last 2 are from today.

Did I burn it with the light or what happened?? My 1st grow, so all advice or solutions welcome. Thanks

could be a myriad of things. your are not giving nutes right? she looks stretched a bit. how bout your watering? looks possibly overwatered. what about PH? could be mold or fungal. which you can get in a humidity dome. Im pretty sure after sprouting they should be taken out of the dome and not wait till the second leaf set.

take some more pics

Overwatered, let it dry out. I let a clone dry out outside for 4 days, it totally gibbled but I watered it and it came back. Lol

Let it dry bro.

Looks like Nitrogen toxicity. Check out this site Smokeybandit22 recommended to me, "Ganja Guerrilla's hall of marijuana plant abuse". Google it. Check out nitrogen toxicity in seedlings, its under the nitrogen section. Now know that I am a novice grower and a second opinion should be sought after. Good luck man and I hope your grow works out for you. Happy growin', happy smokin'.

i am not using any nutrients. for watering i just use a sprayer, and spray them about 2-3 times daily.
Another picture from today:

Now the 2nd cotelydon has started turning dark. So i will not water it for a day or 2 and see if it makes a difference.

Any more help is welcome :D

Thanks

Sorry mate, just started growing last week, so havent been able to get myself a ph test kit yet.

Just to update: Both cotyledons have now shriveled up and, well, the plant looks pretty much screwed.

So is this definately not a heat burn from the lamp? cos this only seemed to happen when i took the dome off and moved the light a lil closer.

Anyways, i will try and keep it going!

type of water? just tap water for now, left it standing for a day though.

i do tend to water them quite a lot, but didnt touch the sprayer at all today. So if it is an over watering problem, u guys think it still has a chance?

Here is another photo I just took, looks pretty bad huh:

Sure it has got a shot. Type of water shouldn't matter. At least I've never had a problem. Don't water until the peat starts to dry out.

she'll make it but you have to ph your water-also have you checked your ppm's of your water? if it is very high this could be contributing too. I will make it easy- go to your local food store and just buy distilled water-1.30 a gallon-than you dont need to ph or worry about ppms. too much longer and she is done for

did you say you sprayed water onto the plants?

If so, when you moved the light closer the water on the plant magnified the light and burned it. Don't sprayon the plants.

Just my two cents

Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated! she looks much better today, cotyledons are basically dead, can i just clip them off??? But i can acutally see some more growth on the true leaves!!

And also, how far u guys think i can put my lamp (t-5 fluorescent tube 24W) away from the plant?

Thanks!

i had the very same problem not long ago leave the dome off , and dont spray the leaves when your light is on (if u have to water water the soil lightly.

one of mine is turning into this also...

the leave tips are turning a light brown, but the soil seems a bit damp/dry for the top inch.. its a clear cup so i can see about 1-2 inches down theres stll moisture..

should i cut the watering for the next 2 days or somthing?

its under a flouroecent and CFL about 1-2 inches witha fan keeping it at 79.2

hmmmmm

Mikey, You put the Beat Down on that little plant. I know this will upset people, but flush that thing, and I do not mean with PH'd water either. I mean down the toilet. First off do not use those Peat Pucks, 2nd: STOP WATERING IT SO DAM MUCH!!! It is a plant, not a fish!!! 3rd: what are you useing for a light? 4th: read the GrowFaqs, and newbie growers journals.

Really though, What kind of light are you useing?
Stop over loveing the little thing. It are not child, it loves to be ignored and forgotten.
