'What happened to my refund?'

Because they are stupid.

Everybody was told only the rich profited from this tax cut. They were told that long before it went to a vote, they were told that while it was being voted for and told that after it passed and was signed into law.

And if you think this year is bad, wait about 2 more years when it all gets a hell of a lot worse.

Oh well. You can lead the horse to water, but you just can't make it drink.

You had me at "because they are stupid"

Just wait until the economy hiccups and we can't use an expansionary fiscal policy because we drowned ourselves in debt during the good years. Oh well, we can always sail to Aruba on our hyuuuge boats, right?

Yep. Happens every time.

My wife and I don't have many friends because of it. They CONSTANTLY live way beyond their means. They miss one paycheck and it all comes crashing down on them.
  • They go out to eat 2 or 3 times a week - we might go out 2 or 3 times a year, if that.
  • They go on expensive vacations 2 or 3 times per year - we go to a rich friend of ours in South Carolina once per year. It costs us nothing.
  • They go out and buy new cars for each other every four years - we work on rotation. My wife pays off her car, she waits about a year or two and then she hands it down to me, she gets a new car. Rinse, repeat.
  • They have on average 30,000 dollars of credit card debt - we have ZERO. The only thing we have financed is the house we're presently in and her car for 8 more months. That's it.
We can't afford to pay for it outright, we don't buy it.

It's why we're still here and everybody else is renting these days, paying stupid amounts of rent, maxing out their credit cards again, same shit as in 2008 all over again.

My wife and I even decided not to get each other Christmas presents so we could go all in on a new 4K 65 inch TV. Everybody else, fuck it. Just rack up the debt because they can "afford the minimum monthly payments".

We only know one couple (who are friends of mine from 30 years ago) who have no debt - they're the rich ones in Charleston.

More like you can lead a jackass to water but you can't make him a horse.

Like whatever happened to savings? lol

I hear ya, so many people just aren't fiscally responsible. Still acting like children.

With the new tax laws in effect, allot of people were expecting bigger returns this year. Now that filing season is upon us people are wondering what happened. Trump promised people would be making $4000 more under his new tax law, but now most Americans are finding that they OWE the government money instead.

oh yeah that's right

donald did promise everyone $4000 in tax relief (on average)

let's see how many of us little people get that tax break with (((george soros))) and (((sheldon adelson))) each saving a billion bucks

who do you think paid for the tax cut of wealthy business owners?

  • Approximately 72% of taxpayers would be worse off than current law, meaning benefits from tax cuts would be more than offset by reduced spending on their behalf.
  • The bottom 60% of taxpayers would have lower after-tax income, paying a higher average federal tax rate.
  • The benefits to the 60th to 80th percentiles would be minimal, a $350 net benefit on average or 0.3% lower effective tax rate.
  • Significant tax benefits would only accrue to the top 20% of taxpayers.[84]

It's all about want vs need. No debt for us for the last 10 years or so. Such a stress reliever.

"What happened before what happened, happened" or your tax refund?

This was not a tax refund bill that's why.

Withholding's from paychecks are down.

People are getting more Shekels back every check, so refunds are lower.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is high, Orange man bad, Orange man tricked me into thinking I was going a huge tax refund.

....but it reality you were getting more Shekels back every pay period.

Now back to Orange man bad

Orange man racist

I had an epiphany about this very issue about 12 years ago when I woke up one morning at an Oregon State Park on the coast. I arrived at South Beach campground at night, set up my dome tent, crawled inside got into my bag and went to sleep. The next morning, I crawled out of my bag and my tent to see that I was surrounded by huuuuge RV's. It was like Gulliver waking up in the Land of the Giants. South Beach is a nice campground but is developed with electricity and water hookups so the Geritol for Lunch Bunch can stay inside and watch TV. It doesn't make much sense except it is a comfortable way for Gramps and Gramma to spend quality time with the grand kids. So, OK, they stay inside and I have the park for myself.

The epiphany came later when I puzzled about how these people paid for those Giants. Just reading the stats on wages, I almost certainly earned more than most of them and I didn't feel like I could afford to just chuck a hundred grand into something that would have almost no value in ten years. But those motor homes were not paid for by saving money. They were paid for out of home equity taken from the refinance boom we had in the mid-2000's. Those motor homes were paid for by borrowed money and massive home mortgages taken out by people in their 40's and 50's. The people who own them will never retire and when they do, they will be broke.

what a huge load of shit

withholdings are not down. you fucking idiot.

i haven't seen such a desperate attempt to suck donad's dick from you since december. remember when the market lost 4,000 points that month, picked up 1,000 the day after christmas, and you claimed the market was booming because people had so many "extra shekels" to spend?

fuck you are one pathetic trump cocksucking, jew hating, neo-nazi retard

I know so many people that do not pay any tax and they get like $5000 to $6000 back usually. I wonder is that what they changed?
