i have seen a post on how to build a carbon scrubber, i am goin to make 2 tomorrow for my cupboard but i unsure of what extractor fans to get. i know the bathroom ones will do , but do they vary in power or will any ones do. im using a wardrobe for my grow box but im worrying about the smell because of my house mate. he wont grass me upto the filth but will the smell still be noticable if i use 2 scrubbers.

You should actually be using a centrifugal fan or can fan depending on how much carbon you intend to pull air through. Inline fans or bathroom vent fans won't work well if at all depending on things.

hi , do u have a link to a can fan? not sure wot one is. and i thought a centrifugal fan was like the one in a bathroom that sicks outwards, or is it something else

If you only plan on growing a few plants, a "PC Stealth Grow Box" is a neat thing and very stealth. You can only grow a couple small plants depending on the size of the PC case, but again, very stealth. You also wouldn't need large fans for it, they would work fine on small inline fans, and 2 to 3 cfl's.

if you grow one plant at a time, chances are you won't need ventilation. anything more than 3 i'm pretty sure you should invest in some type of carbons scrubber. you can find them on High Tech garden and Supply's website just google that and search for carbon scrubbers.

they even sell the whole kit to which includes the can fan

I was thinking more along the lines of this, it may be too big still for your application but thats the smallest can fan I've seen, I bought that one and its very quiet, centrifugal fans usually are more quiet and they handle a little resistance (pulling air through 2 inches of carbon) much better than just an inline fan( fan mounted in pipe).
But then maybe you're on a really small scale and in that case my advise does not apply, although I just did see a nice install in progress, it was a cupboard grow. heres the link https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/364757-best-quiet-est-way-install.html
