What does this mean?

:blsmoke: All my plants germinated and sprouted at the same time, have equal amounts of light but some are about 3 inches shorter than the others, why?
They are an Indica dominant strain I know this because the fan leaves are short and fat as hell, other than that they are bagseed from some killer bud.

Someone will certainly correct me if I'm wrong...but from what I've gathered...in general...

Most seeds will show variations...some traits from mom..some from dad..some from both. If a strain has been grown/crossed/backcrossed/etc. upon itself many times (a science in itself) it may eventually become "stable" and the plants will start to be more uniform. F-1-2-3-4-5 generations...etc...or BX1-2-3-4 type listings as descriptions often indicate that someone took a lot of time to select plants and work with a decent sized population of them to find specific traits rather than just putting 2 plants together to make seeds. (which makes incredible variation, especially if you are crossing a strain already crossed..etc.)

Hmmm...thank you BD. That helps I was thinking that it was somehow something I was doing wrong. Its really interesting because I had 1 in particular that was DARK green and short as hell it really didnt even start growing until its 1st node! Now its grown to a good size compared to the others. But the others are LIGHT LIGHT green and a couple have a slight yellow in the center of the leaves. What could it mean? Also the yellowing seems to just grow as part of the leaf not just a discolorization, what the hell? Anybody gotta clue? I mean they share the same resevoir and lights(obviously) so?

Could be the same thing..genetics....either a slight difference in how the plant is programmed to uptake the nutes....or the parent of that plant may have had a lighter leaf and passed on the trait.

but it does kinda sound like it also might be a deficiency/lockout..etc starting to happen. Other more experienced hydro foilks can give you advice there..i'm just getting into hydro fully myself and am..um...slightly dangerous...LOL

pics would sure help you out in getting a better idea of WTF is up...

That's also just the way plants grow. Some will root better than others so they will outgrow them. And with bagseed the parentage is unknown, so you will have several different types. Another thing is with seed plants, the males tend to be the bigger, stronger plants.

In the past starting from seed, my biggest most beautiful turned male the smallest or runts turned to be female.. This is not always the case, but interesting.. Let us no.. good luck..

and it usually works like that. the pretty ones end up male, the ugly runts turn into big beautiful women :D

is that what happened for you kp??? =] =]

isn't that cuz the males need to get up higher so when they drop their pollen its over the ENTIRE female plant, and not just the sides and stuff

evolution baby!

Wind helps carry the pollen for like a mile..

that's exactly right ;) here's another tidbit; if you plant two plant from seed in the same container, one will be male, the other female. every single time. don't believe me? try it and see!

love, kp

well wait

thinking about it... i had 4 plants each in 2 pots holding like 9 gal. each
at flower, ended up with one female in each (one had a hermie too, but, i think that was cuz of all the stress i put on them... actually i'm suprised i only found one...)

neat stuff...

wELL i GOT A CAMERA so, here's a few pics maybe it can help? The plant i was referring to is in the back and second from the right. Its hard to see, but since I have been flowering it has gotten a lighter shade of green.....
