.....to cool 1350watts of cob in a 5x9 space?

Right now i run 2x1000w of air cooled hps in that space and i have a 12000 btu window A/c that doesnt have to work too hard to keep me at 76/77f. With cobs i dont see how they can be air cooled so... is 12000 btus of a/c enough manage temps?

I wonder... is there a rule of thumb for cooling cobs with a/c?
Like 6000 btus of A/C for 1000w of bare bulb hps is a pretty good rule. There must be a similar rule for cob?

Someone I know swears cobs run cooler than HPS per watt, and they use a sealed room... but there's no math to support that claim that I know of. In theory the same rule of thumb for bulbs should apply and reduced AC use is based on reduced wattage. Cobs do emit less IR so depending on how the room is vented you could see reduced AC use beyond the wattage reduction.

So same 6000 btu per 1000w then? Well that leaves me room to spare. Lol

My room isnt sealed entirely. But I have dedicated intake and exhaust lines on timers. I could use instead a thermometer switch for them...

6000btu per 1000w includes propane co2 burner and bare bulb operation.i do fine with 4000 btu per 1000w hid and some of that is gavita lighting.that 6000btu figure is also for hot climate year round.half the year here in michigan i dont even need ac.so you see why i said your ac will be fine.if your sealed and using propane burners and outside ambient is always 90f plus go with more ac.
I will say i have 1100w of cob running now and its the coolest spot in my op where it usedto be the hottest.

Thanks guys.

I can be confident in the cooling aspect. Whenever i change my growing routine i get a lot nervous because sometimes small change can make huge catastrophes... lemme tell ya...lol
