What do you think about CMH lights?

Hi! I have never heard before about this type of light for growing herb. They say its really great and it doesnt use much electrity too but its weird is that I dont really see people using it.

I havnt used them myself but am looking into them. Apparantly they are more efficient than other HIDs. Less yield than HPS, but more crystal development because of higher UV light. I am thinking of using them in my veg room instead of standard MH. I was considering doing half HPS half CMH in flower room but am finding it hard to come across the 1000w CMHs.

Do you know anything about the cost between hps and chm? ( I mean electricity)

HPS beats both MH & CMH and is a more suitable flower builder light, it brings IR, FR, FR EOD peak, red & yellow efficient PAR output...
MH lots of UV, blue & green, the CMH lasts longer and has a much less spikey output, but less UV as MH (+ much higher hardware costs)
High colored MH + HPS double combo is best spectrum-wise at low cost

Then why do most growers say they prefer cmh?

I use 5 CMH lights in my 10x10 grow room you can see my results on instagram, which is current.

They are cheaper in my opinion and personally buying x2 1000w hps lamps compared to x5 315w full spectrum CMH lights covered my canopy completely and not sub par. Keep in mind lights disipate the further out the plant so after all my research this is a much better option for me and I am very happy with the results.

Most CMH growers will say they prefer CMH
Most LED growers will say they prefer LED
Most HPS growers will say they prefer HPS.

Lot of misinformation still circulating about cmh, since they became popular it was stated a 315 would replace a 600w hps which is nonsense.

Go look for the 315 cmh club thread in indoor growing, then look at the 600 club. See what people are doing with both types of light.

Not sure its fair to compare a 315 to something close to double its watts.. even in LED vs HID
W for W CMH would be preferred by most people over MH/HPS who have tried both.

Theres more than 315s out there to

I like LED for flowering but only flowered two runs with the cmh. But I love cmh for veg way more than LED.
:)
i like led for flowering now but if u give me the option to flower with cmh u bet i will idk why i just like how bud comes out under it. and for veg yes your right its great for veg.

Your right its not, just what happened , least in euro hydro shops. They were all touting them as equal to 600 hps at one point.
Doesn't help anyone to overstate somethings capabilities. Its not the bubs fault though. :D
