What do you do to keep temps down.

Right now ive got fans isolating in the grow room- although the temp at the top of the bucket is around 81 degrees which means the tops of the plants are porbably 85. Ive already had one plant die due to heat so i dont want my 8 other babys im puttin into flowring to die either. What can i do to keep the heat down? I dont have an option of puttin an outake on this room to the outside. I relize i can put more fans in there but im worried the plants will be too winded and get wind burn. Any suggestions? Thanks:joint:

wind burn? :O first i've come across this term.

fan's will not guarantee a lower temp, it just feels lower.

as to 85, you shouldn't really be having any problems growing your plant at 85, it certainly doesn't seem hot enough to kill one, unless it was a week and feeble alreayd failling seedling, (can anyone back this up? i know my cab was running 90 on the top of the soil all june)

Ok check it, this may take some time but 100% proven

1: Get Ice Cubes
2: place said Ice Cubes in your mouth
3: Blow hard into grow room trying to have as much breath come into contact with the ice
4:??
5:Profit

6: Rinse and repeat.

Sorry couldnt help myself, but i have placeed frozed 2 liter bottles in front of my fan for cold air.

How did the frozen bottles do as far as cooling thye room down?

Also ive heard of windburn from many people but havnt expierenced to see if it was true and i dont want to find out the hard way.

I've wind burn a plant before. The fan was too close to one of my plants and the leaves got all hard and dried out from it. They ended up just falling off. The wind burn only effected one side of that plant too. The side the fan was blowing on. So I know it was caused by the fan. But wind burn is possible. I have had it happen.

fans and ventilation will keep temps down so leave the door open or something

any update on how the frozen 2 liter bottles worked? i have a closet im not able to get good induction to so i cant get any colder air in. only ventilation and that goes to the attic i fear thats one of my reasons for it being so hot in there. being open to that attic

you need to have at least an exhaust fan into the attic. I am assuming you have only a hole into your attic. You should put some kind of inline fan to the attic. This will pull your hot air out and pull fresh air/co2 in.

I havn't tried the frozen bottles yet- im still trying to managae the air movment without it being to much for the plants. Ive been leavin the door open but it cant stay like this i need the room to be set up so i dont have to be there because ive been runnin home on my lunch break to open the doors but i can no longer do this. SO its gotta be doors closed at all times.

Proper ventilation is key...

This illustration by Al B. Fuct demsntrates the proper way to set up an Aircooled light set up...

I use this and I am happy... as are countless others...

Keep in mund that the intake blower is optional in 99% of the cases...

Good Luck... and ventilate...

nice diagram. the fundemental concept is that you want the cool air to enter at plant level and usually the lower you go to get the air the cooler it gets generally. exhaust out from top of room. If you do not have a scrubber then just vent hot air back down to floor of grow room. but circulate it thats the key. you dont' need all kinds of fans and stuff if you have good circulation. go get your self a window a/c or sumthin and get some cool air into the room. i would look for 24000btu a/c and 240 volt. false wall, a/c enclosed in dead space. reduces smell and noise. dead space vents out too. there's no way to grow in enclosed area without a/c if your going to get serious about it. and seriously if you want the best nugz you gunna need a lot of lumens so think about getting up to 3500 or more.

i happen to believe that its more like 90% genetics and 10% growing. thy call it "weed" for a reason.

Proper ventilation is the key...

AC is only needed in extremely hot climates...

THOUSANDS of people grow without AC... but they ALL have PROPER VENTILATION...

An Exhaust fan is a MUST... circulating hot air in your op will only ensure that the heat is distributed...

You must get rid of the heat... period...

An Air Conditioner is a HUGE extra expense.... I would not dream of using one...

ac are pretty good for keeping my temps down. cause my situation is similar and it work good as far keeping my temps at a good 77 to 81 all day light off it get to about 71

I cant vent my room at all times as it is a closet in a rental property. AC will be my only option at times so it may be some other peoples only option aswell. The homemade AC i mentioned earlier is a cheap and easy sub for a window unit or running duct work.

I also grow in a closet and an runnin hot air to flow outside is not an option unfortantley. Although When I keep the doors open it stay perfect at a temp of 77-81. The only problem is i cant race home on my break every day to close the doors to make sure no light leaks in. I was told it cold cause a hermy. I think if put a blanket over the doors even with them cracked and if i had a fan pushing out hot air the force of the wind would open the blanket and when the timer shuts the lights of the blanket will still be there to block any light. I have a powerful fan that will lift the blanket. Thats not was i want to do though- to much of risk for light leaking through.
