What do you all try to keep HUMIDITY at?

My humidity gauge says it's at like 16 or 20. I left for a few days so I couldn't tend to a humidifier, it burns water in no time. I've tried putting the humidifier on a timer also. I want it to be around 60%, but it seems to hover around 20% to 30%. How much does Humidity % play into a successful grow?
thanks

A lot. Three big bads are bad nutes, bad lights and bad humidity. Hang a wet towel in the room Optimum is 60-70 for veg and 40-50 for flower ( keeps the bud from getting mold)

I try to stay around 40%-50%. If humidity is too low the plants cant transpire properly and growth suffers. They use a lot of water and the plants are not as bushy and produce smaller buds. Do like MS just said hang a wet towel or two. plus you can leave buckets of water in the room. Anything wil help. My humidifier is automatic. You set it at 50% and thats it. You have to remember to refill it with water but thats all. I paid $40.00 at Target and it does the trick.

i think thats my issue,.. the plants are growing but slow there kind of stiff,. not feeling real.... i put a wet towel in there,.. it worked but now i took a nice big bucket and put the pot inside and put water all around it,.. hope that works better.. what do you think?
