What do ya'll think?

Ok so I started 10 autoflower seeds from short stuff about five days ago. All of them successfully broke the shell and through out a tap root. Only 9 of them have penetrated the surface as you can seed with the attached photos. Amazingly with only one lose the others started to grow. The weird thing is one out of the remaining nine grew root out of the soil leaves down so I flipped it. It's stalk has now started to go transparent at the soil and work its way up. Afraid I might lose that one. I am doing a balcony grow so they are getting 8 hrs of direct sunlight starting first thing in then I bring them in and place them under an old fish tank fixture which has 3 24w cfl one 10k, blue antinic and one 50/50. They are doing great any ideas on when I need to transplant these little ones.

autos are not meant for outdoors. sorry to tell you.

they have such a short life they need at least 18 hours of light if not more. so your sun wont give them enough!

Ugh that sucks I consulted with a bunch of people on this forum before I ordered and was told that they would be fine on my balcony. Would the light setup I have work that they go under when I get home?

yeah thats be way better. keep em on that 24/7

i had mine on 4 26w grew great. then i bought a 150w hps and damn i love this sucker.

but if you can invest in a 250-400w hps. youll be amazed.

Ok so this is the setup I have obviously these lights arent ideal for growing plants so I'm gonna replace the blue antinic and 50/50 with two 6500k. Its kinda shitty setup are the lights close enough to the plants. best part is built in cooling system for the lights.

taken, did you put these seeds after germination in a propogation chamber with the lid on, or did u just leave them straight under light and kept them slightly moist?

I gre one plant but i put it under 1 26w till about a week. Then i put it under 2. Then a few days later i put it under 4 26w. Then a few weeks later under my 150w hps with 4 26w cfl 2700k

plants look great, keep it up. the only thing i would suggest is to put something under the tray so the seedlings are closer to the light, i would aim for an inch away from the light source...

gonna try and subscribe to this post if i can figure out how too

best of luck

thanks for the advice. I'll make the adjustments as to the propagation top I still place that on while its outdoors in the sun I get which is beach sun about 90 degrees average during the day. Keeps them moist and safe from sunburn. Should I be watering now in the sapling stage as they are in the heat everyday and then under grow lights at night?

dude autoflowers grow with any light givin to them, especially the suns light. dude no mattter what type of indoor lights you have, they cant compare to the intensity of the sun, 8 hours of 90-95 degree heat is pro for them. i live in south florida and have 2 autos that are like 5 days old and they fuckin love all that heat, they are like 2in.

Nice good to hear another persons opinion of autoflower growth outdoors. I rotate between in and out out during the day and in under the cfls for about 6-8 hours a night then in the dark till the sun rises. Their growing strong on day six now about 2 1/2" will have more pics up this evening when I get home. still trying to figure out when to transplant from jiffy rock wool tabs to finals pots as they dry out to quickly if I leave the jiffy greenhouse tops off still in the humidity dome.

Please anyone that can help I put the plants outside under the greenhouse dome like I always have for the past 5 days and this is what I came home to is there anyway to save them or am I f'ed. Please all advice.

You shouldnt bring plants in and out! They have to keep adapting and it stresses them.

And no 8 hrs of sun is no where enough light! Considering its only about 4 hrs of directs light.

Quit giving bs info! Autos are for indoors or youll get some nasty shit. Nuff said!
