Have a buddy who started a few seeds a few days ago in the paper towel method as i told him it works well for me all seeds cracked in 36 hrs but 2 or 3 of them the tap root curled right up around the seed..What would u guys do? i told him im not sure cuz when mine did the it ended up dying cuz it wouldnt stay below the piece of rapid rooter i put over the hole of the rapid rooter and i would put it back down but it kep coming back up so i just said fuck it..but he doesnt wanna just kill the seeds and was wonderif u know what to do?? I know it should fix itself but mine didnt was wondering if he should cut the tap root so it str8 again or will this kill the seed?? Any opinons???

Put it in soil, root end down as close as possible, and believe me, geotropism will take over from there.

Don't cut the tap root! I do not use a rapid rooter I use soil for all my grows. So, not having experience with the equipment I cannot advise anything else.

I misread the post. Damn, thats funny. I use Jiffy Peat Pellets when I do a seed grow, and have never had one not take hold.

umm the tap root went around the seed nothing i can do about it, it has nothing to do with getting them started with my rapid rooters...Anyways its fine now..And what is soo funny is that u use jiffy starter cubs lol...The worst things u could possibly use..lol..Now thats funny

Who told you that they were the worst thing to use? I have a damn near 100% success rate. Maybe you ought to at least TRY them before you down them, They're just a medium, like Rapid Rooters, and have nothing to do with whether or not the seed or clone produces roots. If the cutting or seed produces roots, the cutting isn't particular about what holds them. They are all I use when rooting clones. I've used the rapid rooters, and they work well too.

I always squeeze them out so they are damp, not wet. never once had any problems. I looked at the rapid rooters and have used them before. They're great as well, but when I buy them 500 at a time, the difference of .25 between what I pay for them is pretty big. Like I said I almost never had a problem with rooting. Once it got cold as hell in the house for a few days, and some clones died then, but from the cold, not the Jiffy pellets. They are also the only ones that didn't root, so I guess my ratio is pretty good.
