The only advice I have for you is remove the bottom shell of the inside of the lid before you go trying to cut holes in the top of the lid. That way you only have to cut one circle through one piece of plastic instead of two circles in two layers of plastic with a 1/4" air gap between them.

I was really happy I realized I had to do that before I made my cooler bubbler. It was a little bit of work to get the two layers to separate because the layers were melted or tacked together in two rows between the layers. I basically just took a small pocket torch and heated the plastic on the bottom of the lid where the rows were, and pulled them apart once I had them heated enough.

Pliers, blowtorch, fillet knife and a permanent marker.

There is no "easy" way unless you want to go buy yourself a hole saw for a corded/cordless drill. :)

Half of the fun is the hard work you put into things sometimes.

Find a glass or ceramic cup that matches the diameter of the size needed.... 3 3/4" in this case.

Find a starting point in the lid and slip the razor through. Then take the glass and put it on the other side and cut along the inside rim from the other side with the razor. You should get a perfect circle.

Their is an easy way...Take a knife and heat it up as you would if doing "hot knives". When it's red hot you can easily cut our a traced hole. Takes about 10 seconds longer then a saw...
