Hey does anyone have any recomendations on what cfl's are the best right now i have a seedling this is my first ever grow. right now i have a cool natural GE 26watt bulb over it. also whats the difference between the cool natural and the soft bulbs?

I hear alot of color spectrums but im not sure what this means can anyone fill me in? like i said im a newb and i figured i would post here since im using cfl's.

Hey bro. The diffrence between the two are the spectrums. I don't know to much about the name, But look on the box between two and look for 6500k, or 2400k. For seedling and veg state its importaint not to have to much of the red spectrum. (2400k) This will cause your plants to stretch. So what i'd do is look for cool white (6500k) and buy about 4 of them for your plant.

Let me know how it goes.

Peace.

Yes this is true. What I have always done is purchase one of each. I get a cool blue daylight cfl and a specific bulb called 'growlux' which is for flowering and has more of the reds. With this combination you can actually do both your veg and your flowering.

Most people put too much emphasis on red light spectrum for flowering when in fact sunlight itself has a more balanced spectrum throughout the entire year.

Even the bulb I use in my 1000 watt MH is a sunmaster warm deluxe and it works incredibly well. :hump:

Wow! You serious? I can't believe how many people have told me that they have read my entire grow journal. Its like 150 somethin odd pages. I'm not even sure if I've read the entire thing yet ;)

Saying that has got to be the MOST honourable thing ever when it comes to this site and I thank you kindly. :)

If you ever have any questions that I might be able to help you with, please feel free to ask.
