I disagree. I can taper off fertilizer right to the end and get delicious pungent potent flowers. And I only use a Grow ratio.
What you are describing is from over feeding. Flushing for weeks is the band aid. Properly fertilizer plants show the most potential in countless tests I have done.

old school? been growing since the 70s never heard of flushing till mid 90s its all bs same as curing don't over load the plants slow dry,smoke in 10 days.but I agree with the fade

I shoot for minimum 3 days flush but end up being 4-5 days and some ,I only smoke oil ,my buds are the ones wants weed, not flushed they don't want ,and I can tell you have lots of people come by for visit they light there smoke I can tell right away there shit not flushed ,they are putting that shit out and I'll give them something to smoke I can't stand the smell of unflushed weed if yee guys can't tell the difference I guess it don't matter ,Im not a fan of chemical smelling weed, shit stinks like hmm not weed

Again that is from poor growing practices. And likely unneeded additives. Quick drying, bad environment, etc.
Taking nutes out of the medium does not remove anything from the plant.
If it fades it will smoke smoother sooner because of lack of chlorophyll but also won’t have had the proper nutrients available to reach its ultimate potency.
I won’t harvest until they are truly finished either. Takes over 10 weeks on most hybrids I have grown. Sativa leaners takes up to 12.

yup u got it right if ya getting hay green smell the shit nots done!! where the fuck this flush crap came from not sure,but me thinking noobs not letting the flower ripen then trying to make up,my stuff stinks the same 10 days dry or 3 months cure

I have worked with large Growers since the early 80’s. I am personally only growing 4 years but have been in the “market” since then.
Many Commercial Growers have always force fed their crop to get the plants as big as possible and then to get it on the market sooner flushed and faded and quick dried.
Un flushed weed just takes longer to break down the chlorophyll. But it is a quality trade off. The plants need fresh nutrients during ripening as much as ever. Just at a lower concentration as they are old and tired and not really growing anymore. But we want more trichomes full of potent canabanoids and that is when they start pilin up.
Ever since I have been growing for myself the quality has steadily increased. The difference is mainly proper feeding and reaction time to trouble. And of course knowing and maintaining a stable growing environment through all stages.
I have side by side tested cuttings with 2 weeks water only, truly flushed with the 3x pot size myth, fed to the last week and then water and finally fed to the end but tapering off the ec as they finish. Maybe only water the last 1 or 2 times or maybe they looked hungry and I fed to the end.
Point is give the plants what they tell you they need. There is no schedule to follow that will bring better results.
I wouldn’t want to starve this girl of nutrients at this critical phase of flowering. I feed as light as possible so they would yellow on me right away.
This hybrid was extremely balanced and potent after harvest at 10.5 weeks. She produced 6 oz of dense nugs when dry and was flowered in a 3 gallon pot. (Really 2.5 gallons volume)
Those buds doubled in size the last 2-3weeks and at least doubled in trichomes production.

I kind of agree. Many strains taste wonderful right out of the drying closet. But not all. Haze for instance seems to take longer to get there in my experience.
But I’m picky of course. Patients have never complained. Freshly dried meds grown properly will fly right back out the door.

Mine seem to evolve to different profiles over time though. I like to wait for 4-6 weeks curing/burping in jars for personal headstash. The flowers seem more and more complex for a time and then start to degrade like any crop.

ya just gotta taper till the end last week just water get some fade going,but biggest problem I see on here is not many like to run till done,u c folks on here cutting nice flower at 9 weeks SAD then they cure for 2-3 months so it taste better

Even though i taper my nutes off to a fade
I STILL flush
And will continue to do so
I dont need people to tell me im wrong cause
Its not their weed, its mine.

I dont care what you did to achieve it
As to giving nutrients to the plant in its last week

u no some of mine does sit in totes for a bit I guess that's like curing,it does mellow an blend every thing together but I love my fresh ripe flower
