what cabinet to buy...

Hello peeps ive been searching for a while now and am looking to buy a prefab cabinet and have come across 2 that have really peaked my interest and i was hoping to get some feed back from fellow growers that may have had some experience with these companys and could give me some advice.

The first one is Universal Hydro: really nice guy who works there there willing to customize the cabinet for me to fit my needs wants and desires. (as far as size and lighting choice) they have a cabinet called Its a 24 x 24 x 62 inch cabinet that will fit where i need it to. comes with everything so it claims and looks nice and its a metal locking cabinet.

The second is from Super closet its also a 24 x 24 x 60 and also seems to come with everything and fits my needs perectly.

If theres anyone out there that has delt with either of these companys or can suggest another one I would be greatfully appericiative. Either one of these 2 cabnets are going to run me around 2000.00 delivered to my door. I would really like to save some cash if possible if someone could give me the spacifics on fans filters bubblers lights and so on for there home built cabinets that would be great. What I need is it to be metal and lockable and under 66 inches tall. looking to grow 8 to 12 plants and wanting a dual chamber box for veg and bloom.

Im also considering building my own If anyone has any ideas of where to get just the plain cabinets and has a list of places to get the right equipment for a good price. If anyone has a list of materials they used to build a great grow cabinet that would be great.

In my opinion you could DIY for the cheap. It's not that complicated to do it, just get a cabinet at Staples or somewhere. Helluva lot cheaper than 2 grand.

Yea im sure i can do it cheaper the only thing is I'm totally new to all of this and if I buy the packaged deal I know I got everything. I was hoping someone who built a quality DIY cabinet with all the bells and whistles could give me a product list of everything needed and if possible what a good price for such items. I would think that as many DIY people there are here maybe someone kept track of there spending and could tell me what it cost them to do it them self.

If it cost me 1500.00 to do it my self and i still have to buy nuts and ferts and stuff then is it really worth my time.

You're possibly over thinking it, it doesn't take a whole lot to grow anything. To grow something WELL takes care and knowledge. Just because you have $2000 worth of equipment doesn't mean everything will be all tits. Essentially all it needs is air, water and soil. You can drop a seed in a pot outside the window sill and it will grow. If you want to hide it explicitly then where ever you're going to start your grow, take dimensions of the room, and get some scrap wood together and build some walls. All you need is a saw, screws, tape measure, pencil, screwdriver, caulk and some reflectix. I'm not going to draw out blueprints or anything. Possibly try posting this in the DIY section and it will do more for you than I can. I just don't see the point in spending so much money if you don't know what you're doing.

I have the ultimate Supercloset sitting in my garage right now. The double cab with 600 HPS and co2? You know the one, cost me $3000 five years ago, don't know what it costs now, don't care.

Currently it's components are in my basement running a fixed growroom under my stairs. The SC NEVER got cool enough to close the doors. I even switched the 600 out for my old 400 HPS and it was still too hot. I know I had everything hooked up properly, it just would not get under 90 when the flower light was on and doors closed.

Smell control works great, and the air cooled hood is a perfect fit for its current use. The co2, is useless, of course. I can't even get rid of the regulator and shit on craigslist.

Im very aware its not that difficult. The situation is that we have kids and to not have them get supicious I figured a metal lockable cabinet would be the best bet. What im looking for is a 66 inch tall cabinet. from there no less than 24 inches wide and no less than 18 inches deep would fit the spot in my closet the best. It will fit nicely in my closet in my bed room. With that being said I could aquire all the nessasary componets to set it up the way I want. Such as lamps, fans, filters, timers, air and water pumps for a hydroponic system, and a basin or tub with all needed sensors. Like ph, humidity, temp, ppm, and so forth. From there I would need nuets and ferts, ph up and down. So now you see where im going with this. The hardest part is finding the perfect cabinet so it looks like a security cabinet so if any courious eyes see it we can pass it off as a fire rated lock box for valuables. As mentioned before 2000 is a bit much to spend so im going to do all my home work and try to find the perfect cabinet and stock it with everything i need and if i can save a buck then great if not then i'll just buy one with everything included. Just weighing out my options at this point and seeing if its worth it to do it myself of just take the easy but more expencive way out.

Thanks for your help and suggestions but just building a wooden box in my closet would look suspicious i think specially with a pad lock on it. so a metal lockable cabinet seems to me to be ther better idea.

Suit yourself homey, if you got the jack then spend it. Wish I had a Super Cabinet building operation .....
