So..this has absolutely nothing to do with Maine. Forgive me if this is an inappropriate place to ask. Just felt the need. I got SOJA's new CD strength to survive when it came out a couple days ago. They have been my favorite band for at least 6 years. Kinda a raw conscious reggae sound. NOT ANY MORE! Total change, which is very disappointing. First listen through, after I smoked a fatty I wanted to snap it in half. They sold out and went to the Pop genre. so the question is what are you guys listening to, and are you dealing with a musical travesty like this?**Delete this mod if this is not right place to post-Budwich

The last CD i bought was Gillian Welch's The Harrow & The Harvest. The first that that comes up on my iTunes shuffle is Son Volt's "Pushed Too Far" from American Central Dust.

I remember when the Dead went disco with the Shakedown Street album. It was a travesty. Five years later "Shakedown Street" was my favorite opener at a Dead show. Bands that never change stagnate - look at Lynryd Skynyrd.

Hi to you All ;-)
I Downloaded an Album for my Mum for Christmas called "Soul City" (2011) (from www.thepiratebay.se:o) and I've been listening to it ever since.

When i'm not listening to that i like my Drum & Bass. (Oldskool)

Rotti.

LOL the only artist mentioned so far in this thread that I have even heard of is Coldplay..and even them I have only heard of. Not familiar with their music. Yeah, I'm old.

Tet: If you've never heard of the Dead i'd say you have worse problems than being old. Everyone knows the good ol' Grateful Dead!

I'm not a big fan of most electronica (although i likes me some trance and can tolerate a good mashup) and the only thing worse than dub step is glitch.

I would agree with that, Ztrip does some decent mashup's and its amusing. I do like sixtoo and some Kid Koala but most electric sucks, dub step and glitch and all that other shit, well to each their own but i don't like it.. lol

on a stripped blues down note, Seasick Steve is fucking amazing. he is what has actually been in my playlist for a few months now.

Had me a glitch when I dub stepped my toe and mashed it up good, put me in a trance

now thats just funny, i don't care who you are.

Spotify is the bomb. All the music is there. I give them $10 a month to avoid ads. You can listen to anything on a moment's notice on a laptop, ipad or smartphone, (any of which, of course, you can play through speakers.) It's cool to check out other people's playlists.

man, you guys listen to to some weird shit.....gimme some Duane Allman and some Stevie Ray Vaughan......Otis Taylor is good too....

Saw Stevie Ray in Portland. Went to a concert in the Boston Common around 71-72 to see the Allman Brothers. J. Geils showed up and jammed with 'em.

That musta been cool.....I was still a bit young for concerts at that time however...lol

LOL I remember when it was cuz I had just gotten out of the army (71). I was in a division of the army in viet nam that had a big "A" for a patch..I remember it well. Anyway throughout the concert there was a gorgeous babe in front of me with that very patch sewn onto the middle of her butt. Looked a lot better on her rofl

Another anecdote about that concert: drugs were flowing quite freely you might say and I remember someone in the middle of the crowd having a helium filled balloon floating about 20 feet up with "THC $2 a hit" on it
