What are the difference betwen 24/0 and 18/6 Hrs. of light

yeah the only difference is cost as it is assumed that the plant only absorbs 18 hours of light.

18/6 allows the plant some much needed rest. 24 just keeps it awake, it can only grow so much. 16-18 hrs is all it needs, 24 will not have it grow any faster. Personal exp.
24 hours doestn give the time to develop roots
18/6 lets the plant develop a better root system.....and according to legand the better root system the better chance for females but thats legand but ya 18/6 is what i reccommend for growth reasons and finincial reasons...but for first 2 weeks keep on 24 after that go 18/6 plant needs it zzzz too

genetics are pre-determined. I think thats the right word.
i veg under 24 hours anytime im starting a new grow or plants for friends and i have never had problems with roots.
I think if you were to go to any bigtime grow op they would tell you that they do 24hours for their clones and vegging plants.
Plus, how can people even say its less expensive? 6 hours of the lights being off is what...saving you 50 cents?
the difference is nothing but you having to go out and buy a timer AND worry about having a light-proof room.
