What are signs of nutrient burn?

I think I might have put a bit too much nutrients in my plant. the ends of a couple of leaves have gone dry n turned a dark brown, but only on a few of the leaves. Its only at the end of the leaf and the rest of the leaf ad stem are still a dark green. I am not sure, but maybe I watered my plant to early between watering cycles. I just transplanted my female from a 1 to 5 gallon container, and the moisture control miracle grow soil has fertilizer in it<<< I am thinking thats where I went wrong and I should have waited a week or 2 to add nutes to my plant again. answers would be greatly appreciated
