A&B nutrients are to be used in equal amounts of each other according to most companies feeding schedules. Many times one bottle will be higher in nitrogen, and the other bottle higher in phosphorus and potassium. This allows growers who have a better idea of the specific mineral needs of their plants to fine tune a little better.

If you look at N-P-K on each , you will find the N_P_K are both different and target the plants needs for growing

a and b are known as BASE nutrients, mixing them should give you a complete nutrient. Then they want you to buy additives to add on top of the base, which are usually just a way to get you to spend your money on more crap.

Like Chuck says, all you should REALLY need is a complete diet A+B, but, Hydro Nutrient company's being some of the most greedy retailers in one of the most unregulated businesses around want you to buy multiple bottles, the worst offender is 'Advanced Nutrients' who want you to buy a whopping 30 bottles at a cost of thousands of $'.

Well some companies have one A&B for veg and then another A&B for flower. Where others have an A&B for both stages. The base nutrients should not need any bloom boosters for the plants to thrive and be healthy, and yes you can add more of one part to achieve a higher amount of specific elements. Yes most base nutrients have all the micros your plants will need.
