weird genetics?

So what's going on here? I went to start to train my plants for the first time last night and I came across one oddball. The stem is hollow! I went to apply pressure and it snapped like a piece of celery or something. Through the Crack you can see (and feel) that there is almost no support (when compacted). Very odd.
If anything all this sounds bad, however it is significantly bigger than all the others. Anyone ever hear of this before? What's going on?

Germinated at the same time the plant on the left is the oddball. Same placement under light.

This is the oddball again you can see the diameter of the main stem get much larger after the first few inches.
