You don't want all your hard work to end up with you picking lint out of your buds.

Take the plants out of the room, and then do the clean up. Everything off the ground and wipe it down a couple times. Rinse the walls. And then stop the dust from coming into the area in the first place. How is it getting in?

What if you put the plants in the cubby space under the stairs, it could reflect the light a little bit.
