i was wondering if any one could "School" me on some info here i was just wondering how growers get their weed to be blue/pink/purple shit like that ill post a couple pics to let ya know what im talkin about. Thanks!

Mostly genetics. But cooler temps during the flowering stage will turn some strains blue and purp from what I have read. Dosen't make the bud better just gives it more bag appeal.

i read somewhere on a flower seed package waiting in line at the grocery store that if u add aluminum or something in your dirt it puts colours into the flowers......
MAYBE could do something like that with weeds?

It all depends on how you take care of your plants. I must confess that I put one outside in the 50 degree whether so I could sell it and say it was purp. But i think its carmilicious will turn a reddish color and has a magnificent taste to it.

uhh im no expert but im pretty sure than tin foil is not the best thing for the plants.
90% of the time the color comes from the genetics of the seed. BUT sometimes it comes from the cold weather in some areas. like where i am in winter and get cold in my grow box so my plants have changed color a bit. here are a few pics
thos color are from the cold most likely since they are just bag seed...
i would never try to put anything in the soil or give anything to them to try and change there color un-naturally.
but i can tell you that i am going to try (with only 1 branch) right after cutting it off its going in a small glass of food color to see if it soaks any of it up like a celery stick does. since i dont think its harmful since we eat it all the time... and if it works ill be pretty happy..

....when you mix up your dirt its like a chemical or somthing you mix in with your perlite/dirt and shit.
yeahh not recommending it with your plants...

there is a thread about the food colouring thing it works, the stem dus drink the coloured water and the bud dus change colour loads looks amazing but from what i read on in the thread its not recommended cause it makes the weed taste crap.

so many myths on this page its untrue.
The colour green in cannabis plants is its primary pigmentation. This comes from the chlorophyll. Plants like purples, blues and reds have a secondary pigmentation. The green is usually dominant but only while there is chloropyll. When the chlorophyll starts to break down the other colours start to come in.
This can be done with nutrients, cold weather and a few other ways but the secondary pigmentation has to be there in order for it to change to that colour.

flowers have chlorphyll too. if you can add a aluminum substance to your dirt to change the flowers for a pink to a bluee or green
(it says right on the packaging...)
might be able to fuck around with a pot plant to.

Only problem with this is foil does retain a little warmth from the light even if it doesn't see the light itself. I had a friend a while back experiment with this method of foil in the soil and it burned the shit outta his plants and no matter what he did he couldn't get rid of the burn so he trashed the plant 1 month in. The guy was an amazing grower too so it wasn't like it was from nutrient error. As far as adding food coloring to change flowers you don't normally eat or smoke the flowers unless their bud and have you ever smoked food coloring? I wouldn't advice it lol. Hope this helped

No no no, I completely understand it was just a statement but a lot of these newbies will dive at an opportunity to change their bud's colors because they think it adds character to them, which to a degree is true, BUT I was just trying to clear things up for others that are reading this thread going "OH WOW FOIL I HAVE SOME OF THAT LETS DO IT!!!" NO lol it is not good for your plant

lol If you brought both these weeds for someone to buy... chances are they are gunna wanna buy the purplish one cause it does look nicer lol..
chances are the one that wasnt stressed is the better weed too
