Wattage and sockets

I have 2 sockets already wired up (bought like that). Its for an terrarium or what not so I want to take it apart to put in a pc box.
anyways my question is: It says to prevent fires use a 23w cfl bulb or lower. Is this just a general warning?, or is it okay to put a 50w cfl bulb or even higher?
I know its a newb question, thats why its here . But I'm a paranoid person and I don't want a fire.

a clamp light with reflector is less than 10 bucks at home depot. You can also get the socket screw in that turns one light socket into two for like 2 bucks. Don't burn your house down.
