Watering

its best to water when to top layer of dirt starts to look dry. You should also start getting to know the weight of what your pot feels like full, and empty, then you can just tip it real quick to see if it needs water.

hey buddy .. i think that is the most faq there is .. and it does not have one answer. there are so many variables size of light, plant.pot, kind of soil, enverment.all are factor buy yourself a moister meter.. read some and than read some more .. small plants in big pots need less watering as plant grows it will use more water... learning the weight of pot is very importane...get some exprence and have fun... weezer

With a small plant in a relatively large container you are much better off letting almost ALL of the soil dry out before watering/feeding.
When in doubt, it is better to let the plant droop or wilt a little from lack of water than it is to overwater.
Your plants will thank you!

as stated, become aware of how much it weighs when its dry and then when its wet. dont overwater it, i only water when they wilt a teeny bit - they like a good dry period. also, just cus the top soil is dry doesnt mean its dry on the inside..typically the topsoil dries in a day or so, watering just because the top of the soil is dry isnt a very good idea ganjfather, youll end up overwatering them. like Wavels said, its best to wait til the whole thing is dry - the plants like a small dry period!

just wait til the pots get light, and yea dude do some research..

Pick up a moisture meter also.. I can tell now by picking my plants up when they need to be watered and by the amount of days, since im used to the schedule.. but pick up a meter just to be sure.

for a beginner, who is still learning, I would watch the top, as the top layer of the soil won't dry untill the layer of soil underneath is dry beneath it, and so on and so forth, your medium is a spunge, if ther IS moisture in your medium, it will be pulled to any dry spots, if you notice dry spots, then there is no moisture to be pulled. and yes of course you water less with a big pot, common sense maybe... and why are you going to let your plant start to go into shock and start wilting, that's the most absurd thing i've ever heard, CANNABIS DOES NOT LIKE ITS FEET DRY, it likes to ALWAYS have a bit of moisture... like I said before ANYONE else chimed in,get to know the weight of the pot, that is you best way to check, but since you are still learning, refer to the beginning of this paragraph... and yess most of all enjoy yourself, you are on the road to one rewarding hobby.
