Watering

Quick question guys--

I have a one week old sprout, growing in a mix of soil, peat moss and perlite.

How often should I water it?
I'm just not sure how wet the soil should be-- it feels moist to the touch, but not really wet...

any input would be great!

Thankx

i use a moisture tester you can get them at lowes and home depot. or you can lift the pot if it is light then water it . I don't use the 1 inch method cause you want the roots to grow, so if you only worry about that first inch they wont grow as much because they are not searching for water.

Has long has you water the plant once a week that will be fine water on the same day every week.Make sure that you ph the water i use water ph of around 5.5/6.0 and the plants love it.If you get into the habbit of watering like this then you will have a far better root mass. The reason for this is when the plant starts to dry it will send out spredder roots in search of water. Some dudes on this site water every day this is way unnessary in my opinion.Don't worry if the plant looks dry after around 5 days leave it it will be fine. But get the lights that you are useing ha close to the top of the plant has possible. These are the two main areas to get right in growing a cannabis plant that will produce lots of nugs, you want the light close whitch inturn will give you close internodes. The problem with plants that are watered every day is the plant will have a very small root mass small root mass means small yeild.Big root mass means big yeild do a mix of 60% compost 20% peat 20% perlite and you should grow a healthy plant.

Wow thankx a lot Tyke-- I appreciate your advice. I will do so and see what happens. Currently I'm building up my own compost as well, so hopefully I'll be able to add some of that later on.

Once again everyone-- thank you for your helpful and quick replies :)
