watering coco sog

I'm about to start a 40 plant sog in 1 gallon plastic pots with straight canna coco.

Looking for an effective watering method. Was thinking about adding nutes/water to a plastic tub with a pump in the bottom and creating a wand with holes in it to water the pots which will all be at equal distances throughout the table. What do you guys think?

I'm not familiar at all with any other type of growing methods like ebb and flow or top feed.

Suggestions/comments would be appreciated!

A good rule of thumb is to water when the top of the coco looks dry.

Some swear by watering every day but I've never found the need to with coco in larger pots.

Depending upon the size of the root structure and the SOG plant size you could find yourself watering multiple times per day it all depends on how quickly the top dries.

Make sure you achieve the desired 20% runoff each time though.

Helped a friend for a few weeks using same setup and only had to water once a day every 2-3. My pots are fairly small but good for sog. Had to water once a day at the end of flowering. Thanks for the good info!

Do you think the wand idea will work or do you think there are easier methods?

Are you looking to do each one individually?

I use an aquarium syphon but it's manual.

You could use a MAXIJET 500 with a long enough piece of hose pipe.

£10 job done.

I would like to water multiple plants at once (5, they will be in rows of 5 equally spaced apart. Good reviews on that maxi jet. That is just a submersable with an outlet on top right? You saying run a plastic hose from that to a wand and water with it?

Yeah basically.

Or you could buy manifold attachments and tubing and fix any amount you require.

However a MAXIJET 500 I wouldn't go above a 4 branch manifold for feeding 4 plants.

MAXIJET 1000 would be better for +4 plants at a time.
