Watering....a little help please

ok so my plants are in 1 gallon containers right now and I was wondering how much to water them.... I know to water until I see runoff but how much?? like rushing out for a bit or dribbling?? same with water and nutes added. Mine calls for 1/4 tsp per gallon... I have them under 600 watt mh and in FFOF soil they are just over 30 days old and around a foot tall......

I like to have a little runoff so I can test the ph. I usually give an extra gallon of water at watering time in my 3 gallon bags. Kinda cuts the need for a bigger flush later if you keep the crud from building up in your soil.

yeah but the problem is that I have them in 3 gallon pots and when I water slowly I only get about a gallon of water in and it starts coming out the bottom......the run off ph is fine i just dont get it. My plants seem to be doing fine but again i just dont get it

....in soil, I water then rewater 1/2 hour later for best saturation.

i usually water and feed heavy ... alot of runoff water. I'm sure it's frowned upon. I'll learn my lesson im sure. I also let them dry out pretty well before i water.
Just a thing i remember my science teacher telling me... I remember she was watering some hanging plants in class and letting a ton of water go everywhere into a drip pan. she was telling us to not be afraid do give our plants a nice big drink of water.
