its probably all the same. Some clean there water then add elements back, some use spring. its all the same really. get a few bottles and ph them.

They should all be around the same but you never know. it doesnt really matter though if you ph in the end. Get the biggest cheapest thing you can

i know some stores have fill it yourself R/O machines. its about 25 cents a gallon and ive seen people use those 5 gallon water cooler jugs.

I still have family in Maine. I wonder if they're on this forum... Ha! Old potato farmers.

A filter won't help a ph problem so if that's it you'll have to correct it anyway. But if you just want to get stuff out like chlorine etc, I recommend a Chlorine Snatcher from High Tech Garden. Costs about $70, two stage filter with charcoal. Works good. Filters last a long time.

Or a smidge of compost, EWC or molasses will eliminate chlorine and chloramine.

Get an ro filter or rain collector barrel.
Got my rain barrel on amazon for 50.00 or so. 55gal called smart barrel or get distilled water. All of these will be 0ppm but adjust ph if you need to in hydro keep at 5.8
soil/coco run off close to 6.3
so this removes a lot of variables/elements that may be in tap or bottled it will give you a more consistent water base to start and the only element that will be in it will be ones you add and don't forget cal mag if you go the 0 ppm route with hydro or dolomite lime which is not only a buffer but has cal mag in it for soil/coco

Every grow I've ever done has been straight tap water of portland water districts water and I have never adjusted the PH level at all. But I'm no longer have portland water district and my tap water taste like shit. I think that was one of the reasons besides keeping my water cool in my cloner that my clones never took...I also have one of those primo water dispensers that uses 5 gallon jugs, I guess that would be similar to portland water districts water.
