as idont have a ph meter right now, so I dont realy want to use the tap water. and also since I dont have a ph meter i dont know which is better, the spring or the distilled.

distilled it is, Thanx :-P
And I will be buying a PH meter soon, but not for a little bit.
Thanx again, later :leaf:

dude, you can get a ph drop kit for less than the cost of 20 gallons of water.

buying water is the most wasteful thing new growers do. you might as well buy weed if your gonna spend that much to grow it.

Yeah I know their cheap to buy but I didnt have enough cash on me to buy 20gls of water or a PH tester. Next week i will, when I get paid.

And i dissagree with water being the most wasterful thing to buy. I belive its shitty soil, like MG stuff. I learned first hand about not using MG and just buying some FF ocean forest soil. Now im sure Ill learn that buying the PH meter is a good idea too, but its no where near as wasterfull as buying MG soil and just having to take it out and use something else. Pretty much just tossing out the MG soil and what ever cash i spent on it.

I've used both distilled and natural spring water and both worked fine. I do have a hanna digital ph probe that cost about 20 bucks on ebay. Probably something you need to get ASAP!!
As for buying water....I was going to get an RO system to hook into my water system but when I did the math, it was not even close. Buying bottled water for a grow is MUCH MUCH cheaper. It would take me almost 10 grows to equal the cost of an RO system and by that time I would be buying replacement filters and never break even. Wal mart sells 3 gal boxes for very very cheap.
I do not do hydro...just soil type grows.

I don’t use any special water; I just make sure I let it sit for a day, so I always keep water on hand. Don’t waste your money, water is water! PH is the most important part of dealing with the water used. Just check out my grow and that will sum it up for you. FYI get a PPM tester and test your water. Just adjust your feeding for the PPM content already in your water. For instance my local water PPM in 35-36, and I have never had a problem with my plants! Other than being over critical of course.

is your tap water that bad?

i just dont see why more people dont go with tap.

Yeah man my tap water SUCKS...almost 9 on the PH meter. It takes me almost 8ml of ph down to bring it down enough to get within range :(
