water temp question

is there a point where the water temp gets to high or low, that is bad? also does changes in water temp from hot to cold ok long as it happens slowly? I made a pvc hydro prototype system.

My reservoir stays at 68, and that seems to work ok. I did have it get to over 80 when i was out of town and it nearly killed my grow from a bacteria that grew. So for what its worth it should hover around 68.
