If you're aiming for 6.5 pH, then the sensitive range for that solution is just about doable. Never used it though. I like the General Hydroponics pH test indicator, range of 4.0-8.5

You can use anything to measure pH with soil, just measure the pH of the runoff when you water. ;-)
