There is a video where sand is placed on a surface under a speaker and as different frequencies are blasted the sand seperates and forms differant geometric shapes.

Let's just build quantum computers out of water.
But seriously, if this effect is true (I'm not buying it yet), then it implies there is some quasi-Bose-Einstein Condensate effect going on. That's the only thing I know of that can "hold" light, but even then it only slows it down (to molasses speed).
From a different perspective, how would a hologram work in this case? I'm pretty sure Leonard Susskind could come up with a hypothesis.

In the old days of computing a guy i met told me the way they installed more memory was to add gold wire simply to increase the time it would take the info to travel the wire.
not sure if it was true but he said it was when computors were the size of an entire room. he sounded like he was honest. It just kind of blew my mind.

That sounds like Finshaggy science to me.
Last I checked, gold was a fantastic conductor. It is true, increasing the length can distort data signals in a transmission line, but I don't see how that applies here.

Electronic memory is typically composed of latch or flip-flop circuits. Today they etch circuits on silicon; back in the day they would implement bi-stable circuits using tubes. When small delay was required “tuning” pieces of wire, (cable), to add phase delay was quite common. This wire was typically physically constructed to act as a transmission line.
Wire in itself doesn't present distortion; however un-terminated transmission lines can. Attributes of the circuit, will determine how carefully one must match the transmission line impedance. True distortion such as 2nd, 3rd, etc, depends on an active circuit being present.

Yes. I doubt Chadni was the originator as there are hieroglyphs of cymatics patterns from the ancients. Everything is spinning and vibrating and forms shapes based off their resonant frequencies.
