Water Farm 8 Arjans Ultra Haze #1 & El Nino SCROG

I have just a few questions about scrogging. The system being used with the scrog will be an 8 site Water Farm system, and plenty of lighting:blsmoke:. I'm thinking of building a nice scrog setup with pvc pipe, with the hieght being maybe 4-5 feet tall. Both the Haze and the El nino will grow like crazy in the water farm, and make a ton of bud. I have read up on scrogging, but still have questions. Let me know if my information is wrong.

1. Topping and femming - Do you just do this as much as you want, or just a few times. From what I've read doing this obviously takes away from having a big cola, but will each site still make a great amount of bud using this hydro setup with scrog?

2. These girls are starting from clones. Without doing the scrog the plan was to veg two weeks then flower them. I'm thinking with the scrog they will veg at least 2 weeks longer or until they're about to touch the nets, then switch to 12/12.

3. Which strain will work best with the SCROG? I know that these plants can be trained to do grow in about any form, but the Indica dominant El nino is already going to be bushy by genetics.

Thank you all:peace:

Titanium Ive been using waterfarms for years and they really can grow a person some large bush/tree like plants if you set them up and use them properly.

1. be sure to drill the bottom of your pots out using a 1/4 inch drill bit (if using large hydroton pebbles). You want the bottom of those pots to look like swiss cheese! This will give your roots plenty of growing room and makes all the difference in the world.

2. Add a six inch bubble stone to each waterfarm. thats right add another source of oxygen to each and every 'farm'. The drip system source of oxygen is simply not enough. You cant water your plants 24/7 so you will need another source of oxygen for the roots while the drip system is off. This means you will have a total of 2 lines coming from each 'farm'. One line for the drip system and another line for the bubble stone. Each connected to an air pump. I highly suggest buying an Eco Plus 4 outlet pump OR a GH air pump with 4 outlets (as many as you need)

3. Those 'farms' get heavy if you fill them to the brim with hydroton and use the recommended amount of water. You'll have better results if you cut your water nearly in half! Not kidding lower your fill line on the blue tubes(thin slice duct tape works) and add slightly over half of what GH suggests water wise. Otherwise your drowning your roots.

4. Dont use the drip 24/7 in fact marijuana loves the top 3rd of its roots getting plenty of fresh air. Only water when your grow medium is dry. This really is a science if you want the best yields. It takes practice but over time you'll learn exactly when they need water and for how long to water them. Remember some strains can handle more then others however none of them should be over watered consistently.

5. Flush once a week! that hydroton absorbs salts and becomes toxic very easily and it can be a bitch to flush completely. so flush brother flush.

6. TOPPING- Depending on the strain will determine whether you want to top or not and also what your growing goals are. I wouldnt top El Nino in a waterfarm grow personally. Your going to have huge bushes on your hands with lateral branches galore if grown properly. The El Nino is going to explode in the waterfarms be prepared for some pruning bro! Be sure to leave plenty of space between those plants otherwise your buds will be competing for the light on such a bushy strain.

7. If you veg those El Ninos in the waterfarms for 4 weeks, once they start flowering your going to have Massive bushes on your hands that will take up more space then you ever anticipated trust me. Your going to have some work to do bigtime. 8 plants- vegged 4 weeks- El nino- in the waterfarms fuuuuuuuck LOL. Do you have 8 extra square feet to spare? lmao.

8. El nino is perfect for scrog your going to be walking through a jungle brother. peace and best of luck!
