Water curing...

Whats everyone's opinion of water curing? Does it really make the smoke as smooth as some say? I've always loved a nice long jar cure for flavor, but as my lungs get older the smooth nature of water cured bud sounds interesting to me.

I was not impressed when I tried it with a little bud. Suppose it was smooth but also seemed to lose alot of character.

Have you tried vaping? I make Iso hash oil, mix with propylene glycol. A buddy who says smoke bothers him loves the shit. Mellower high but works.

Yea I hear that every time this topic comes up.. no experience here with the water cure. But they say it tastes bland most of the stink is gone . I guess it's supposed to be stronger effects wise..I like green bud all the water cured buds look way to dark and brown. .

It's sorta like winterized BHO. The buzz is there, flavor is gone.

I had a large batch of outdoor that was great, well ripened smoke but very harsh. I water cured it and it made the best blunts. We took a couple ounces of the dry water cured nug and we did a QWISO extraction on that. The resulting shatter taffy was amazingly smooth.

I suppose if the flavor isn't nice and you just want the buzz this can be a way to go.

Nowdays we just do a cold butane extraction followed by a winterization with ethanol.

In my younger days, well before I ever thought about growing my own, I'd water cure crappy, dry, brick weed on occasion because it sucked so bad... it made it blandly tolerable and as a bonus, it compacted or shrunk it down in size so you didn't have to smoke as much for the same effect. To be honest though, I've never even had the thought of trying to water cure something decent - but I guess it might not be a bad way to go if you want to make it a bit easier of a smoke.

You should try it with a small amount just to see if you like the result.

I have a couple tortured plants that I'm going to water cure.ive read enough that I want to try it for cooking and maybe press some kief... I heard once you pull it and dry it you can smoke instantly and it's smooth?

Yep I have a vape, just really prefer the act of smoking a joint to be honest with you. I guess i'll try the water cure with a small portion of my next harvest, probably an ounce or two, and report back on here what I think of it!

I've tried water curing a few times and my personal opinion is that it ruins weed. I think it tastes like crap, and it loses all bag appeal and smell.

Just remember that starch is not water soluble. If you dunk your plant in water immediately after harvesting (without a drying period), you will not give starch enough time to break down and burn off, and you'll be stuck with a very starchy (shitty) product.

The curing (i consider drying part of the cure) process is stopped in its tracks after water curing.

The starch is a lot worse to smoke than the salts and chlorophyll you'd rid of with the water cure.
