Water chiller sizing

I'm almost done building my grow room and I've seen a few used water chillers online and I was wondering would a 1/10 hp water chiller do the job for a 50 to 60 gallon 5 site and res setup?

that's probably pushing a 1/10 pretty hard. try a 1/4 if you can find one

What if I supplement with frozen gallons of water in the res ?

been there, done that. it gets old after about day 3.

Yeah man, your going to hate life having to do the frozen bottle swaparoo. Been there too. Not the mention the risk of shit if your dont clean off your bottles.
You need a 1/4 horse. Sometimes you can get a good deal on one off amazon.

Yea 1/4 hp like 330 on Amazon

Amazon rules! But....
Knowing refrigeration units can fail, I purchased a chiller from my local hydro hut.
Paid $30 more than Amazon, but I have same day replacement if needed.
They handle the RMA bs.

Good point about that. Going down the street for a replacement item is convenient.

Always check craigslist, I picked up a 1 ton chiller a few days ago for 100 bucks. Works great.
