Was It An Illegal Search?

i was at school and the principal asked me to empty my bag, he didnt ask he told me i had to, i opened one pocket and empited it out. he then grabbed my bag opened up the pockets and pulled out my bowl and papers, as well as under a gram. but im wondering if that was legal or not?

Your rights are diminished in a school because there are strong public policy concerns and fourth amendment rights are diminished.

As for fucked, not really, you will probably get detention. its not exactly federal time :leaf:

well i got a suspension and two court dates, its a misdamenor, so do you know what the fines could be or anything like that?

actually im from maine, the texas chilly dog thing is a joke. i ussually do leave it in my car but my car broke down. and i was selling the bowl to a friend after school, but my papers fell out of my bag in class so i got caleed down to the office. lifes a bitch i guess

Man i got kicked out of school for having less than a half g on me. And it was less than a Month away from Graduation!!!! I was soooo bit and my Mom was more than Super Pissed she was Fucking Livid!! It was a 25K a year private school so i had just wasted a little over 50 Thousand Dollars(i was there for 2 and a Half years i started half way through 10th grade) I was soooo fucking angry at the Ass holes who sold me out! I really wanted to Kill this one duche bag who was the Nail in the coffin when he named me as his "Drug Dealer" which i Was Not! O.k to tell the truth i HAD sold him various "sustances" waaay earlier on in the year but i hadnt even talked to this guy for about a month or so prior to the incident.He got caught with Way more weed than i did and he was let back the next week!!! This was the only time in my life where i honestly could say i would have Beaten him in to a coma or worse if i knew where he lived. Fuck Snitches,they really do deserve Stiches!

Searching with the schools is tricky....When I was in high school, I was partying with a bunch of people on the tennis courts on a Saturday night...Rent a cops came and busted up the party. I thought that was that....NO. They walked me and another girl back up to the school to call our parents. When we were waiting for our parents they searched me, they found beer. The next school day I go in and get called to the office. They expelled us. All of us. Expelled. Well, the reason to this story is this; my dad had my expulsion over turned, he did this because THEY SEARCHED ME. With an attorney he was able to have everything thrown out. How? They were NOT allowed to search us without the permission of our parents. My Dad agreed not to sue if they let me back in school....This was a long time ago and I don't know if the laws are the same, but, in my case their 'search' saved my ass.

take this as one of those " learning " events , bet you won't be hauling your stash to school anymore. we all run risks sometimes, sometimes we get burned don't stress out too much about it , just learn from it.
