Warming root zone

so my issue is I’m growing indoors in Canada in the middle of winter with LEDs. Lights on I’m getting around 20c depending on the temps outside but they’ll go as low as 13c lights off. I’m in a heated garage ambient in the room reads 20c.

I’m in a 3x3 tent. It’s wall to wall green so no room for a heater and really wouldn’t want the fire risk anyways.

I’ve been reading that as long as your root zone is in a comfort zone temp wise all should be good.

I’m thinking heat mats under the pots or maybe even insulating the pots some how. I’m in coco.

Yep heating mats work great, buy enough styrofoam to line under the floor pan in your tent to get everything up off the cold floor, then put your propagation/heating mats inside and sit your plants on them, it really helps, good luck!

I’m assuming it’s safe to do? Since I do get some run off after watering. Not too much though.

Propagation mats are waterproof, unplug it when you water if you want, the combination of heating mat and styrofoam should take care of your problem and it's relatively low wattage too. BTW they look pretty good good luck

Of course you want to use horticultural heating mats for safety. I had the same issue and improved it with a layer of 2" foam. My climate is not as cold, so that was enough. I noticed increased growth rate. Good luck...

I had same issues and same temps. Got me an infra-red foil for floor heating at 150W/square m and a thermostat. Tent is silver lined so it will reflect majority and keep those pots warm. Concrete on the ground will warm up too.

This is end of week 4 two days ago

You can also buy dricore subfloor. I had left overs and used it to place my tent in top of. Keeps the pots warmer than the ground.
