Wack Question

could someone be nice enough to tell me the width, in inches, of 3 gallon and 5 gallon black pots?

Weird question, but I'm trying to plan how big my cabinets need to be, and I haven't bought my pots yet >.<

height is 12/14 inch...as for width u need to think footprint of the plant 5gallon 2x2 footprint

I would have to say that would differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. You can have many different height/width profiles of a given pot and still both be 3 or 5 gallon pots. The higher they are the narrower they would be.

Lol, lost me there. I keep seeing footprint, that's for lights right? I'm sure I'll be set for lighting.

Like I said, Wack Question, now I feel like a derp... Guess I'm gonna go buy some, or at least go measure the ones, at Home Depot, lol.

Thanks for the speedy response and information! How do you go about calculating foot print? I was planning on LSTing my plants, and then I was going to add 12" to the diameter of the pot, to allow for 6" growth in each direction. Your way sounds better.

Which is bad for me... Time to continue the hunt for the elusive 4x4x5 storage cabinet:wall:

my info comes from my grows .......the size of the plant is directly linked to the amount of water and good the plant can intake

so i know a 3 gallon planter only takes 1/2 gallon of water so the plant biggest is 1.5x1.5 that is all it can possible bush out
a 5 gallon is 2x2 when your feeding skills get better it will be 2.5x2.5

this is natural grow with some trimming and super cropping
