Hey folks! Hoping for some insight from those in the know. I started a project that I can't follow through on because I lost the mom. Hoping there's a backdoor to something resembling her, specifically her flavor. Here's the scoop...

RQS - Amnesia OG (Seedsman freebie) = Mom
Devil's Harvest - Hells Bells = Dad

I had a single amnesia seed who grew to be my holy grail plant. Fortunately I took clones before flowering her. The plan was to self one of the clones in order to eventually recreate the mom through that S1 seedstock. (I am unable to grow year round, so seeds are a necessity)

One clone I dusted with pollen from a male Hells Bells. The other I sprayed daily with colloidal silver beginning two weeks before flipping to 12/12, all the way through when the pollen sacs began to open. It worked great except that the pollen sacs didn't really begin to open until around week 6 and the pollen turned out to be unviable anyway. I culled the selfed plant because she was looking pretty haggard toward the end of her bout with the CS and then I harvested and tried to reveg the seeded clone, but she flat out died after about five weeks in the veg room. She sprouted one leaf during that time. One. Leaf.

So the only remnants I have of the mom reside in those seeds from the cross with Hells Bells. Is it likely that I can find her flavor again from growing out these seeds, or from inbreeding this first generation?

Thanks in advance!

Maybe not the first generation but you might on the second. Only 1 way to find out.

So it's more likely to show in the f2 generation than f1 generation? Makes sense based on my reading over the last couple days.

Let's say i make and grow out the f2s, and get lucky and find a pheno that i like with the flavor I'm chasing. I assume next is to cross her to one of her brothers and then their progeny back to the female f2, rinse and repeat?

1. AOG x HB (i have these already)
2. (AOG x HB) x (AOG x HB) = AOGHB F2
3. Grow out and search the F2s until i hopefully find that flavor.
4. *AOGHB F2* x best AOGHB F2 male = F3
5. Grow out and hunt for the flavor again.
6. Backcross F3 to F2 mom chosen above? = F4 or BX1?
7. Grow and hunt again.
8. Backcross again to F2 mom = F5 or BX2?
9. Grow and hunt again.
10. Backcross to F2 mom one more time = F6 or BX3?
11. Grow em out and hope for the best. Assuming i made good breeding choices, these seeds should be fairly uniform, most with the flavor i want but may lack vigor from the inbreeding. Correct? Or should i take this line another step or two further with additional backcrosses?

I think i've got most of this right, but please correct me if i'm wrong. Please also correct my nomenclature, as I'm not so sure if these should be labelled F4-5 or BX1-2.

I plan on using silver to cross female x female with everything F3 and beyond so i know i have the right flavor and other traits.

I also know i simplified things a bit for this post. This will be a long term project for which i'll have to keep that F2 mom alive for the remainder. Which will go against my wife's wishes, but I blame her for not letting me keep moms previously or order new seeds...so she has to deal with it until i succeed or fail, whichever happens to be the case!
