Grrat news people. I had previously always thought that the reflector on my 400w MH/HPS system was too big to fit into my 2ft x 2ft grow box but today I got out my tape measure and discovered that in actual fact the length of the reflector comes to exactly 23 inches so it just about fits into the box. Over the moon about this as I havent fired up my 400w in ten years ! 2004 was the last time I used it. Thats my next grow sorted then. Veg them under the Vipar then straight under the 400w, he he.
Used to average 2 oz per plant with this system if I grew multiple plants or 5 to 6 oz if I grew just one.

Quick update on the grow. Not much to report. They are just doing their thing and getting thicker. I checked out the trichs on the sugarpunch today and could see quite a few cloudy trichs but as yet no amber trichs. Couldn't check out the NL/Haze as it was to the back. Anyway with any luck they should be finishing soon.

I hesitate to try and guess what the likely yield might be. Going to let them go another 12 days or so and see if they are going to be ready to take down.
Yeah, I play that guessing game every harvest. I was always pretty good at guessing with outdoor but indoor has thrown me off my game. They're looking great, should be a good haul for you.

The individual bracts on the sugar punch are really starting to stand out and I can see some foxtailing begining on them. They havent got much to go now. Bit more difficult to tell with the NL#5/Haze, still cant really see individual bracts on it yet. I like to harvest when my plants have that slightly yellowish look and the individual calyxes are well swollen and clearly sticking out.

Could be just my imagination but I could almost swear they have grown a bit in height. All looking nice and thick so far including the BLZ Bud, really dense buds. Wondering when to stop feeding them and start flushing. Think I will give them one more feed and start flushing.

Fuck fuck fuck. I had to snip off one of the main colas from the sugar punch today because it was going mouldy :wall:. It was quite a big sized one too and very dense. Luckily it seems to have been the only one affected so far, bugger it all.

mold 3.jpg taken a pic next to an RAC sat nav for size comparison.

mold 1.jpg mold 2.jpg have to keep a very careful eye on them now its so close to harvest.

This is the down side to growing I guess. You plant the seed, then you worry and wait as you nurse them through the various stages keeping your fingers crossed nothing goes wrong.

Ouch, get tons of airflow in there and keep humidity lower, you're so close... Good luck

Hi GroErr. Thanks for stopping by. I did manage to salvage the top half of the bud with some drastic surgery and its now drying. I was surprised at how dense these buds are. I was originally planning on taking them to 11 weeks but maybe I will now cut them down after 10. This has happened to me before in this box when I lost an entire trainwreck plant to mould.
Time I got myself a grow tent I think.

Too bad, yeah better figure out the mould thing, that sucks, good luck. Sounds like your humidity might be too high in flowering... Some strains are also more susceptible to it :(

I would chop NOW................seriously

Thanks for the advice. I have really upped the airflow in the box now. Did a thorough check of them again today and touch wood they all seem to be fine. I want to leave them for another week at least as this is when they really pack on the weight. Checked trichs on the sugar punch and all cloudy but no amber yet.

Thats a killer grow. The leaves are still so green at this stage I am psyched at how well the plants manage under the Vipar. With more space in a tent your gonna do very, very well.

Thanks thx. much appreciated. The leaves are begining to look alittle tired now as the buds packon weight but still green. Yes the vipar rocks and I only wish I could have used it in combination with the Hps earlier.

The top half of the bud I managed to salvage is now thoroughly dried. Weighed it and it came to 4.2 grams.

Quick smoke report on the sugar punch. Considering this sample is only just dry with no cure whatsover its a damn good smoke. I normally hardly ever get an effect so to speak from my buds till they have been curing for at least 5 weeks. The sugar punch is a pretty smooth smoke, not harsh at all to the throat and it definitely got .me high. Its the sort of smoke that leaves you feeling like your brain has just been jet washed and scored clean on the come down if that makes any sense, he he :bigjoint:

Oh man I hate mould. Seriously. I took down the sugar punch today at day 65. I noticed another one of the top colas going mouldy :

mouldy bud.jpg mouldy bud 2.jpg I think this particular strain might be particularly susceptible to mould since it hasn't yet affected the others. Anyway I did manage to salvage a good density of bud from the mess :

salvaged buds.jpg The pic on the right is what I managed to salvage and the mess on the left got chucked. This will definitely be my last grow in this box as the computer fans just cannot handle the increased wattage of lights and the corresponding increase in the transpiration rate of the plants as they respond to more watts.

harvested sugar punch.jpg sugar punch hanging to dry. Will have to check on her everyday till shes dried.

day 65 flowering.jpg day 65 flower.jpg I took these pics just before chopping down the sugar punch. Will leave the other two till 10 weeks. Happy growing all (:.

Wow, too bad but good decision to pull that one. I had to cull some plants coming up last round where one strain (Platinum Bubba Kush) got PM and transferred it to the rest of my clones. Didn't want to chance carrying it on so I culled and moved some of the PBK's outdoor. The JTR that was in between and touching 2x PBK's was resistant to it to the point where it went away after a couple of sprays. That was a clear case of strain-dependent resistance (or susceptability) to PM so the remaining PBK seeds will only be grown outdoor. Good luck with the remaining plants...
