Will Vinegar really lower my ph? right now its at 7 and i want to lower it to 6.6ish. any ideas or suggestions on what to do. i was thinking 1/2 tsp vinegar per gallon of water?

That's about right - might be a bit much.
Use Apple Cider Vinegar as it smells better and holds pH longer than regular vinegar.
