Very Simple Closet Grow

Hello again growers, Life has taken some turns and I haven't grown since the start of this year, I'm now in an apartment while going to school so I decided to set up a little closet grow. This is how it starts.


Oct 22 - Bagseed seedling sprouts in medium sized pot.


Nov 26 - I just let her grow under 24h light (4 x 23W 6500K CFL's) and had no issues aside from a harsh transplant procedure into fresh soil and bigger pot. I also probably fertilized a week too soon because I saw some leaf-tip damage. Needless to say, she was stunted for a week.


Nov 29 - Strong and healthy, grew about 3 inches higher in 3 days.


Dec 1 - Growing fast as hell. Today I found calyxes everywhere, and about 5% have pistils so far. Still under the same 24h lighting. I'm thinking when I see a ton of pistils and let her get another few inches higher I should probably switch to the 150W HPS and 12/12.

Dec 14: A little closer look

Haven't updated this in a while, but I've still been watching over my girl. Here are some pics I took today (Jan 26) to show where things are at.







So I have a couple of questions about what's going on right now. First off, what the hell are these little hard white things sticking out of the buds?




Secondly, this plant sprouted sometime around the end of October, so it seems that I am getting very slow progress. I mean several transplants and newbie water-jobs probably contributed to this, but why after 3 full months are 90% of the pistils still straight as ever and pure white? Could it just be the strain that I am growing or is there something I can do to improve development?

And back to the first question, what the hell are those white things?

For anyone who may encounter/read this journal, those little hard white things sticking out of the buds are known as bananas. The first sign of a hermie. I killed this plant the same day that the above picture was taken once I daignosed it. I smoked it and got fried too. Lesson learned. Check out my new latest grow thread here.
