Very broken plant, please help

I had a few break like that in my first grows outside. I left them and they were fine. You will know in a day or two if they are okay.
Seems like you waited to long to repair it anyways so if the branches are alive then just leave them....but make sure you support your plants from here on out.

P.s. If you do choose to tie it back together make sure you seal up any cracks. Bugs do and will get in there and have a feast.
I've grown 3 lb plants in this spot with no support, my plants get too big to cage and other than staking when the buds are huge and pulling the plant over I've never had a problem.
Sealing it up is key for keeping moisture form pooling in the center and causing root. And yes bugs! Thanks for sharing your experience in 15 years of growing I've never had one break like this ☹

I cage plants early; as soon as they're in final pots.
Kushes tend to be rather weak-limbed. Many times OGs have just jettisoned limbs entirely from the main stalk for me.

I caged, attached cages to the pots
Put a grid over the top of the cage.
Its very sturdy, very simple and I will feed the new branches through the top. Allows some spread too

Then top the shit out of them.

About the time they start to flower I will throw a net over each so the branches grow through it.

I have no choice, wind n rain raise hell here.

Maybe we are talking different cages the stems ofof plant where bigger around than tomato cages I would have to cut then off to not kill them before they finish. Maybe just some stakes and sting, I'm motivated now to figure something out. I agree and especially this candy kush about the more fragile stems.

I kid you not the stems of my plants last year were bigger around than those pots. But I agree I am going to figure out something to support them.

I had a friend who refused to do it and every year I would go over there to see his losses, im not harping on you.
If youve gotten away with it for 15 years your doing something right.

I mean a tomato cage is like 18 inches In diameter. .. and if you had trunks that big then you should be pulling a hell of a lot more then 3 lbs. Just saying.

I'm not new to growing but still have so much to learn, this was a hard lesson! I just know certain strains I grow will not fit in that exact setup for the whole season. Thanks for getting my gears turning and now Im thinking about how I can support them just in case! Then they will have a jump start when the bus get fas and heavy and I have to steak then!

Pics of these trunks?
No I have one of the plants 4 feet over my head but I got rid of them, I'm only even here now because this will soon be legal in my state. I only weigh what I trim up nice , many more oz went into bubble hash
I'm not here to brag especially not here on my fuck up but I want to find a practical set up to support the plants all season. Northern Lights and Big Bud got huge but not all my strains got that big Raspberry caugh wasnt bigger around than my leg but still produced well for the size of the plant.

Believe it or not this staking configuration is strong and simple too.
Notice the cord i have strung around the stakes. Kind of a makeshift cage.

I know those plants were small. Lol
They were reveged plants and I was recovering from a surgery so I did what I could.

Not saying you are bragging but you did say you had trunks of plants that wouldn't even fit in a tomato cage. And you know what they say...If you don't have a picture then it didn't happen.

The important part for me is that they cant get swinging. Once they do its a problem. But this makes the plant move as a unit instead of individual branches flailing.
Anyway good luck

For potted plants they look like a nice size, do they have a bottom on the pot? I was thinking something like this or stakes with the mesh attached to it? Like a screen over them.

Yeah, those are just grow bags stuffed inside the other.
My soil is so shitty i don't bother.
Plus I cant dig there because drain field n shit like that.

The bags im using in the first pic are 45gal. I imagine the second set are less than half that

Ok and now I see those are not normal Tom cages in the first pic and my plants stalks where not that big. That is more like a fencing wrapped around a 45 gallon pot. I put my plants in some super deep compost and cover them till the weather gets warm with plant fabric. So I could still use the fencing around them in the ground and I love this idea best. Thank you I wasnt seeing the pic right till I looked closer

Oh, my yes. My cages last year were hog wire fence, custom made. 6'6" tall and ~4' diameter.
Never mind the bolted colas hanging from it, the plant inside that cage before harvest was a total failure and produced just that.
Tasty, though. Sunset Sherbet.
Hmm so your saying even a larger custom made fence setup was s failure? Darn I thought that may be better than a tomato cage
