very 1st grow, the cheese ,any advice welcome

Hi all 1st post 1st grow.gotta say guys this sites great and got loads of usefull info.

we got 10 cheese seeds (feminised) and 5 super silver haze.for the minute as we dont know what we doin properly weve just set 5 of the cheese seeds of and this will be our journal

anyways me and my m8 decided to have a go at building our own hydro set up ,2 rooms ,1for vegging and 1 for flowering and we are now 31 days in so got a few pics from day 1 up to now.

we are using ionic nutrients as we have a hydro shop right on our doorstep so was easy to get hold of and also using rockwwool and clay pellets as a medium

heres our homemade veg room setup .using 2 x2 ft lights with 2 9600k 110w bulbs in each light .hung on easygliders.also picked up a ph and an ec meter to check the water when our seedlings 1st got fed we started at half nutrients 0.75 ec and our ph set at 5.9

will post more pics and info peeps asap to try and bring journal upto date :lol:

ok guys heres the first pics.think the cubes are a little too wet but not sure.think we might have overwatered em too as the journal goes on

seedlings at day 5.still on plain water and roots was through the 1 inch cube so took them out of propagator and put them into 4 inch cubes and attached the drippers ready for the 1st feed on half nutes

4 of the 5 seeds came through allthough 1 is smaller than the rest and took 5 days longer to get goin

we think they should be bigger than they are at this point but again not sure.

and roots were now through the 4 inch block so put them into pots full of clay pellets as we gonna keep the best 2 as mothers

seedlings went on full nutes at 14 days 1.50 ec 5.9 ph and was spraying them with fizzy springwater now and again

just grooow girls.

room also goes cold when lights go out about 15c and set at 18 on 6 off ,could this stunt growth? along with overwatering :?:

2 of the seedlings are starting to look really dense and bushy with not much height

ok so now at day 24 and at day 21 3 weeks ,,and after reading loads of stuff on here we discovered that we had not changed our water and had just been topping the nutes back up and having to put ph down in about 2 drops a day to 20 litres of water as it kept rising. which i hear is not good...sigh

decided to change water and go to 7 day water changes and now we know a little more about reading the ec meter we will see how it goes

sum more pics and another discovery that our water maybe too cold so got a fishtank heater

we were feeding them and the res temp was 15 degrees C and ec was 1.49-1.50

after we put the heater in and raised the res temp to 24 degrees C the ec had shot up to 1.75 so we put some more water in to bring it down

dunno if this is right but think there starting to grow a little quicker now

weve read sumthin about ph and finding your plants ph sweet spot for taking in max nutes and as we thought they should be bigger and we still learning over the last few days and feeds weve adjusted our ph from 5.9 -6.0 down to 5.2-5.3 to see what happens

right almost up to date and the girls are now starting to grow quicker from all the changes and mistakes we think we made but still look too dense and short to some of the pics i see on here

,we also went from 7 day water changes to 5 days as the ec meter jumped up 1 day and the leaves on 1 plant looked healthy green but a bit wrinkled

oh an they starting to pong now especially the 1 on the front left of pic 1 .a lot more than the others :lol:

looks good to me, after all it is a weed so it should just grow right. i think i had the same problem with water temp and low tem so now i keep the low at 62 when before it got to 55 and water temp at around 70. seems like it helped my growth. your plants look great...i'll be watching

cheers dude and thanks for the info our room temp is still dropping so we have gone to 22 on 2 off to try and keep room temp up until we get some sort of heater in there.gonna call it a day now and ill upload the last pics tommorow

ok guys so after bringing the water temp up we still had a problem with the room temp falling to 15C when the lights went out. so we got 1 of those oil filled heaters today to hopefully keep temp up so we can go back to 18 on 6 off with the lights

we are still at 5.2 ph and 1.50 ec but if any one thinks we should change it please advise

just thought id post these pics too ,the root system seems to growing like mad since raising all the temps

We are hoping that these fem seeds give us some nice ladies to clone from, we were just wondering at what stage in the veggin cycle
we can take some clones,we are thinking in about a week or 2 any advice please........

well guys the room heater worked .and weve now gone from a low of 15C to 22C and they seem to be lovin it

still wonderin about when to clone though as pic 4 shows.

do i wait until 6 weeks or could i take these sooner as there gettin big lol and bumping into the large fan leaves :?:
