Vertical Light growing?

Seems you could grow just a few plants better and not have to do complicated SOG if the light was dropped down between them. I mean the bottom buds can't grow unless they get light so a vertical light would get these allowing the whole plant to be productive. Anyone have any experience or seen this done?

I'm working on it.. I have 6 - 4 foot fl's on end surrounding three sides of the plant. Like a tanning bed. Plus dangling cfl's and a 70 watt HPS from above.

I chose this route because space was limited and I could not have the lights horizontal.
