venting an old hydrofarm light

I just broke out an old 400w hps hydrofarm light i had sitting around, after hooking it up my temps are a little high.
My room is only 2'x3'x6.5' but this 400 puts temps into the 90's.
the hood has intake/exhaust holes-1 on top (the venting holes dont go through past the reflective shield, so it seems to suck from above it)1 in the back(also doesnt go past the reflective shield, rather acting as a passive intake for exhaust vent ontop)And 1 louvered vent in the front that does vent through thr reflective shield but does nothing for helping ventalation from top or back.
I have tried to hook this up to my 170 cfm ecoplus inline fan all three ways, best way i have found was to vent from the top and let it pull cool air from the back.(the front louvered vents dont do shit hooked up like this),but the light doesnt cool enough, airflow is restricted cause of a poor design.
So im here looking for venting ideas. My idea was to block off top hole, cut bigger hole(or series of small holes) where the socket comes through the reflective shield and vent through the front.
If someone has a better idea please feel free to help a brotha out.:bigjoint:

u got pictures or the model of the reflector? I have a 200 cfm on a 400W radiant and it cools great. Do you have a glass lens on the thing? Dont block of any vents, just add a glass lens and exaust that hot air out of the room, makes it easier on your fan. You also need to allow cool fresh air to come in. If the air coming in is hot its gonna be hard to keeps temps down. I have ambient temps at around 75 and my canopy stays about 80-85 degrees F.

I dont post pics. A 400 watt radiant is different from the style hydrofarm i got.Yes it has glass and yes there is cool air coming into the room and no i havent blocked off any vents. My fan is sucking from my reflector blowing into the attic.
Not my first rodeo, just have a reflector that is poorly designed in the ventilation department.I am not afraid to cut new holes or whatever it takes to move more air out of there.
I had a 600 watt yieldmaster II air cooled reflector in the same box and never had temp problems.
I have to open up the inside somehow to allow more airflow

A radiant reflector has flanges on both sides for air flow.My hydrofarm is not made like this.My reflector almost looks like a hydrofarm convertible with the ballast built in.However my reflector and ballast are 2 seperate units.
The convertible and mine look similar but are not the same unit.I only mentioned the convertible because it is the closest looking reflector to mine
