Venting Air Out of the Tent Makes Temps Too Cold

I have a somewhat logistical problem. I'm running a 600w hps with a 6" cool tube in a 4x4 tent, with a carbon scrubber and 250cfm fan that runs the filtered air over the bulb to cool it. If I vent the air out of the tent, my temps drop fair too low (low 60s). But if I keep the air in the tent I fear I'm not getting enough air circulation. My plants have been doing well with no issues, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to remedy this. I was thinking about adding a 70cfm exhaust inline to blow air out, but that was my only idea so far.

Can you split your outflow into a large and small stream, and expel the small? Same result, less motors. cn

you could get a speed controller for your fan and slow it down

Agreed, was thinking a smaller fan but the controller seems more practical.

But if I knock down the speed of the fan, won't this impact the air that can be pushed through a carbon filter?

I run a filter and a 6-inch fan with a 600. I've got the speed cut way way back, using a variable transformer. It still works well. cn

It will diminsh slightly, but you'll be fine, dropping a few CFM will still be more than enough to expel the tent.

Actually a nice prob to have if you're going to have one - usually excessive heat is the issue. What are temps at lights out?

I had problems with cold temps during dark. I hooked my exhaust/cool tube into the timer to run with my light. When the lights off so is the exhaust. I've got a small rectangular fan on one of my floor intakes and it runs continuously. I live in SD and my intake comes directly from the window...cold temps. Now I'm running 74° lights on and about 60-64° lights off.

Your don't need "fresh air" in your tent. It is not air tight enough to really casue a drop in co2 levels.

Have your lights come in at night. Also I messed up 2 max fans using the speed controller. Them things r not designed to be slowed. After 2 months it started being real loud and annoying then the motor will get stuck on that speed u hAd the speed controller then ill be like me buyin another one. But don't be an idiot like me and buy another and to do the same shit twice
