Hi, if I wanted to exchange the air in my grow room 3 times an hour how would I do that? Or know when iv put it on the right speed? Thankyou

you would have to calculate the size of your space,then work out which fan would pull that amount of air 3 times in the hour

I see but I was told to get a bigger extractor than needed so it didn't have to work so hard, so if I got one 2 times bigger than needed id only need it on half power, is that right?

that is correct my friend,the more air moved thru the grow space the better. what size is your space?

I'm unsure yet, because I've had to change plan, split with girlfriend, I'm hoping room will be 12/12/8 i have the extractor its a big one 1500m3

I'm hoping to do 2 of heath's verticle grows in the room

ok so 12x12x8= 1152cubic feet divide by 3=384cfm. so 384cfm is the absolute minimum you need to move three times an hour. but adding a carbon filter you need to add 20%. non air cooled lights add 15/20% per non air cooled light or 5% per air cooled light. hope this helps http://botanical.com/hydro/air/calculating_fan_requirements.html heres the link in case i did'nt explain it clear enough. good luck with your vert grow man!
