Ventilation -Inline Fans - What to use ?

No comparison dude. None. Vortex/elicent/can fans are well built of steel w/ turbine-like blades and powerful motors. It's be noisier by far..but it'll move some serious air.

You can build a duct muffler or buy one and it will easily knock the sound down by 1/2.

I know..I know..it's always something!

I had a feeling you would say that. I think I am going to run with what I have currently. In the winter I will need to beef up because I will not have the same access to AC.

How do you feel about only venting one side of a sealed reflector, air pulling from reflector. The other side will have something like this on it ? Master Flow 8 In. Deluxe Click Starting Collar - 12 per Carton - SCF8 at The Home Depot

I am worried about it being to cold at night so I was thinking about putting the two booster off the AC on something like this to shut off at a certain temps. DuctStat Plug Inline Voltage Thermostat

Plants should be in the ground shortly.

You'll be governed not by what I say..but how cool your space stays when the light is on.

Ductstat works "OK'. IMO, you'd be better to spend 2x that on something that really does the trick well and will go with you to the next level if you decide to go bigger someday. like this

Quantem Moisture Proof Wall Mount Variable Speed Controller - QC Supply

Can't say how splitting the Ac will go. Don't have AC here..... but again..if you suck that air out through the reflector wherever it goes will STINK. (garage...etc.)

Well it appears my current setup is not going to work. With the AC and its Fan OFF the room sits at around 94 degrees. During the day when its warmer outside the AC is running and the room maintains between 79 - 81.

Looks like I am ordering an inline today from somewhere. Anyone have any suggestions ?

How can the SUNCOURT mess I have claim 240 CFM and the CAN say 270CFM. I still believe you when you say there is a night and day difference. Why are the numbers however so close ? I need to order something this morning :)

Is Vortex any more quiet than say CAN ?

Lame bump, I need to order something today or its AC on 24/7 $$$$

The CFM's are so close between the two above what makes one so much better than the other. I need to justify this HUGE cost.

Here's the difference....

I'm wagering you can stop that plastic blade (it is still plastic..correct?) in that Suncourt with yer fingers.

Stick yer fingers in an inline...you'll be goin to the hospital.

I dunno why the ratings are different. The Suncourt is technically a BOOSTER fan meant to "help" push air already being pushed by another (furnace) fan

inlines are designed to stand alone..they are not booster fans.

dunno what else to sayt..an inline is just 10X the fan of the Suncourt. They must sell a shitload of those to noobs..I bought one once myself thinking it would work.....

good luck. bt dt

Thanks I am going to order something this evening. My wife is going to kill me and thank me after harvest. The room is looking nice, I am working on the door today. Tonight we have to seal up spots were the HID light was getting out of the room. Our stairs going up look like a runway at night.

I will do a build journal when I have finished...
