Ventilation, I think this would work? (basic electrical wiring question)

If I cut the ends off the wires of both of these following things and connected the black and red wires and then taped them with electrical tape, would the fan work? Would I disregard the yellow wire?

Try it, you won't hurt anything. You may have to switch the wires around and see what works best. Some fans have a visibe thermister that can be jumped for increased speed.

This is exactly what I got going, ya youll be fine...dont worry about that third wire (yellow) you can just snip it short and tape it up..
